Sarah Conrad

Sarah’s work is in ethics and social/political philosophy as they relate to environmental justice studies, womanist/feminist philosophies, critical ‘race’ theories, and environmental philosophy. She is currently working on her dissertation which proposes that an environmental justice theory infused with womanist/feminist restorative justice principles produces a more robust environmental justice praxis. Some of the concrete social and environmental issues she is currently researching are e-waste, the prison-industrial complex, and violent environments. She recently had an article published in the Peace Review: a Journal of Social Justice introducing the environmental injustice issues surrounding e-waste recycling programs in U.S. federal prisons. While working on her graduate education Sarah has had the privilege to research and write with several faculty in UNT’s Philosophy & Religion Studies program. She has also taught at both UNT and Tarrant County College-Trinity River Campus and was recently honored as an Outstanding Teaching Fellow at UNT in 2011.
