Sumshot Khular is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Environmental Philosophy at UNT, exploring and theorizing her interests in indigenous languages and cultures, Indigenous Peoples (IPs) environmental justice concerns, and human rights. As an indigenous person herself, she hopes to contribute to the emerging area of indigenous environmental philosophy, further broadening philosophy from its historical reliance on Western frameworks by engaging in Indigenous research paradigms and Indigenous methodologies.
Sumshot has GSA, TA, TF experiences, currently working as an RA for NSF project, Documenting Language and Environment, under the supervision of Dr. Irene Klaver and Dr. Shobhana Chelliah.
