The major in philosophy requires completion of 10 classes/30 credit hours in philosophy. A minor in philosophy requires 6 classes/18 semester credit hours (3 classes must be advanced hours).

Many companies hire religion majors because they are interested in people who can not only think critically and communicate effectively but also who possess an understanding of global issues and who are capable of seeing the world from the perspectives of others. Career possibilities lie in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including law, publishing, military, social service, teaching, and graduate and professional schools.

All of the religions examined are treated equally: this encourages open, thought provoking dialogue among other students and faculty members. You will acquire knowledge of multiple religious traditions while gaining outstanding spoken and written communication skills. The program's interdisciplinary approach allows you to choose courses in a wide variety of disciplines including philosophy, English, history, anthropology, sociology, political science, art education and music history.
